However, if asked what kind of event Halloween is,
could I answer...?

today I would like to delve a little deeper into “Halloween”.
～The Beginning of Halloween～
There are various theories, but it is said that the festival "Samhain"
held by the Celts, a branch of the Indo-European peoples, more than 2000 years ago, is the origin.
In the Celtic calendar, “October 31st” was the end of the year, and November 1st was the new year.
From the eve of October 31st, a grand festival was held to gather autumn harvests.
It was also believed that the gate to the afterlife would open and the spirits of ancestors would return.
Later, the Celtic people were Christianized, but the custom of the festival remained,
and the Christian church designated November 1st as "All Hallow," meaning "All Saints' Day,"
and its eve, "All Hallow Eve," was shortened and changed,
and later became known as Halloween.
～What does Trick or Treat! mean?～
There are several theories about the origin of "Trick or Treat," but it is believed to come from
"souling," a medieval European custom of receiving "cakes" offered to the dead.
"Trick" means "mischief" or similar, and
"treat" means "to entertain" or similar.
Together, "Trick or Treat" means
“Give me a treat, or I'll play a trick on you.”
An event to commemorate the deceased, which has
now changed in form and content in each country,
and has become a large-scale event.
